The theme for 2010 is “Together We Can End Extreme Poverty and Hunger,” and the aim is to raise awareness among everyone about the situation and improve the lives of the poorest people in the world. With an estimated increase of 105 million hungry people in 2009, there are now 1.02 billion malnourished people in the world, meaning that almost one sixth of all humanity is suffering from hunger.

Girls will rotate through a series of 10-15 minute stations and participate in fun activities that will educate them about the issues of poverty both in our local communities and around the world. Please ask each girl in your troop to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to local food pantries in our community.

Each girl will receive the World Thinking Day 2010 patch.

Registrations must be received no later than January 20, 2010.

Minimum Girls: 60 Maximum girls: 100

*For each girl registered, $1.oo will be donated to WAGGGS World Thinking Day Fund.
